FAIR Principles Training School

May 19, 2025

On 12-15 May 2025, Fondazione Gianni Benzi participated in the FAIR Principles Training School organised by HemaFAIR in collaboration with the HELIOS Network in Larnaca, Cyprus

Participants had the opportunity to explore how research data can be made Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR), not only in theory but also in practice, through in-depth lectures, interactive sessions, hands-on exercises, and meaningful exchanges. The Training School was attended by 37 participants from various countries, including Albania, Armenia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, the Republic of Moldova, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, and Sweden.

Viviana Giannuzzi, head of the Research Department at Fondazione Gianni Benzi held a lesson covering the ethics aspects related to the research data use, responsible data sharing, with a particular focus on GDPR, informed consent and assent from children.

The Training School offered not only the occasion to strengthen skills in this field but also a shared vision: to build a future where data is more open, reusable, and impactful for all.

Moreover, just after the training school, the HemaFAIR Consortium meeting was held and Fondazione Benzi presented its activities carried out so far, ongoing and planned in the Work Package dedicated to the regulatory, ethical, legal and social issues.
