XVIII Foresight Training Course – 2026

The 18th edition of the Foresight Training Course was held within the framework of the HELIOS Action– COST Action project as a Training School open to members of the haemoglobinopathies research network.

The initiative took place in Bari from 1 to 3 July 2026 at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Bari Aldo Moro and brought together international experts and participants to discuss current challenges and future perspectives concerning ethics, gender equality, regulation, and the responsible use of health and genetic data in research activities.

Through lectures, round-table discussions, practical activities, and group sessions, the Training School addressed a range of topics, including:

  • Data protection and the European Union regulatory framework
  • The European Health Data Space (EHDS)
  • Informed consent and assent
  • Gender equality and inclusiveness
  • Ethical and regulatory aspects of genetic research
  • Artificial intelligence: ethical and regulatory perspectives
