PedCRIN annual meeting: advancing paediatric clinical trials

May 2, 2018

The annual meeting of PedCRIN (Paediatric Clinical Research Infrastructure Network) was held on 23rd and 24th April in Bergen (Norway) at the Scandic Ørnen Hotel.

The project, funded by the H2020 programme, brought together the European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ECRIN) and the founding partners of the European Paediatric Clinical Trial Research Infrastructure (EPCT-RI) to develop the capacity for managing non-commercial multinational paediatric clinical trials. PedCRIN effectively connected paediatricians and other partners across Europe (and internationally) to combine resources and expertise in order to conduct and manage robust studies, minimising risks and protecting participating children.

The annual meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the developments and progress of activities in the first year of the project. Additionally, the role of PedCRIN within the research infrastructure ecosystem was highlighted.

Professor Adriana Ceci, President of Fondazione Benzi, represented the EPTRI project, while Donato Bonifazi (CEO of CVBF and EPTRI coordinator) presented the latest updates on activities within WP3 – Tools for paediatric and neonatal studies.
