Fondazione per la Ricerca Farmacologica Gianni Benzi Onlus is a registered not-for-profit Scientific Research Organization, established on November 9, 2007 with the aim of continuing the work carried on by professor Gianni Benzi, who dedicated his life to promoting the translation of the relevant discoveries in Life Sciences into human medicines and innovative products to cover unmet needs.
Following the way paved by Gianni Benzi, the Foundation aims to promote research in biological, medical and pharmaceutical areas with strict and continuous attention to the innovations and opportunities resulting from the scientific progress as a guide for introducing substantial methodological innovation and new fields of action.
Wellbeing of patients affected by rare diseases and other special populations like children are our dimension and final horizon. We dedicate efforts to involving patients in the research process and empowering them in the decisional phases.

The enthusiastic support of the Founders, a high skilled and motivated staff and the contribution of relevant scientific personalities, has allowed the Gianni Benzi Foundation to be one of the outstanding voices in the European biological, medical and pharmaceutical research landscape.
OUR MISSION
It’s necessary to work hard every day for the advancement of scientific research, engaging forces and knowledge to ensure future generations of quality medicines able to treat any kind of disease. We are strongly engaged in the promotion of scientific research in biological, medical and pharmaceutical fields of social interest, with particular reference to those affecting populations with unmet medical needs.
Following the impressive results in the field of life sciences, we devote strong attention to supporting advanced research applied to innovative medicines and products, regulatory science to appropriately link scientific advancements and rules for developing products, data science and information technology able to increase the speed and extent of results.
We invest a lot of resources for disseminate knowledge on new scientific advancement also in order to encourage patients’ empowerment, stimulating them to be protagonists in the official discussion focused on the different phases of medicines development.
Besides research, we perform educational and training activities in the regulatory field with the aim to foster a continuous multi-specialistic update on the complex procedures of the European Pharmaceutical System.
Also, as professional cooperation and the exchange of experiences and expertises is crucial for the scientific progress, we strictly cooperate with national and European institutions in order to implement of reasoned and effective policies. For this reason we are involved in the construction and we are active part of research networks, consortia and collaborative projects.
