On September 29-30, 2012 in Warsaw the Gianni Benzi Foundation is organizing the V Foresight Training Course "Science, regulation and business in pharmacotherapies: how to solve conflicts and exploit synergies for the benefit of patients".

The Foresight Training Courses are intended to offer a paramount vision on the mechanisms and procedures of the current and future regulatory and scientific world in the light of the European Pharmaceutical System to Regulators, Researchers, Physicians, Health Professionals, Private and Public Companies, Patient Associations.

To this end, the V° Course has been focused on some of the most relevant current controversies between science, regulation and business, that will be addressed by proposing theses and antitheses with the aim to find possible syntheses, having as a final object patients’ interests.

The following topics will be addressed:

Allocations of resources in health care: HTA and other tools

Research and clinical trials: controversies and needs

Pediatric, rare and neglected diseases: actions to decrease the gap

Assessment of efficacy, effectiveness and risks: early availability versus uncertainty
