On the 21st of August 2012, an article by a research group lead by Prof. Cavalletti, a member of the Foundation’s Scientific Committee, was published on the prestigious journal “Annals of Oncology” of the Oxford University Press. The article “The chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy outcome measures standardization study: from consensus to the first validity and reliability findings” illustrates the first data of the study Perinoms and has been prepared with the contribution of Dr. Barbara Frigeni to whom the Foundation has awarded a research grant in 2010.
The study represented in the article is concerned with the selection of outcome measures for the evaluation ofchemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) and establishes their validity and reproducibility in a multicentercross-sectional study. CIPN represents one of the primary fields of scientific interest of the Gianni Benzi Foundation.
