These misshapen cells tend to stick together, obstructing blood flow and leading to painful crises, chronic anaemia, and damage to vital organs.<br \/>\nFondazione Gianni Benzi has long been engaged in the research about this condition through scientific projects and international collaborations. In particular, the <a href=\"\/?p=18025\">ARISE<\/a>, <a href=\"\/?p=18033\">ERAMET<\/a>, <a href=\"\/?p=18037\">HELIOS<\/a>, <a href=\"\/?p=18045\">HemaFAIR<\/a>, and <a href=\"\/?p=18041\">INHERENT<\/a> projects are concrete examples of the Foundation\u2019s commitment to improving knowledge, diagnosis, and clinical management of sickle cell disease.<br \/>\nTo celebrate this day, we would like to share with you the<strong> informative booklet<\/strong> \u201c<em>Living well with sickle cell disease<\/em>\u201d produced by the ARISE project. It provides clear and accessible content on SCD for patients, and their families.
