The first calls under the new EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation “Horizon 2020” have been published.
For the 2014-2015 period, 15 billion has been allocated. 7,8 billion assigned for the year 2014 are focused on the three pillars of Horizon 2020 (Excellent Science, Industrial Leadership and Societal Challenges) and are aimed to support the Europe’s knowledge-driven economy and to face the daily problems of European citizens.
Twelve are the areas for research activities: personalising health and care; sustainable food security; blue growth; digital security; smart cities and communities; competitive low-carbon energy; energy efficiency; mobility for growth; waste; water innovation; overcoming the crisis; disaster-resilience.
Also Fondazione Gianni Benzi has responded to the request for participation in the of the European Commission program addressed to researchers, universities and enterprises, and is going to start new partnerships in order to submit innovative research projects within its areas of interest (personalising health and care and sustainable food security).
