The Foundation announces the launch of a new four-year project, starting today, funded by the Cost programme, entitled HELIOS. The project aims to build a network of excellence to integrate, harmonise and disseminate existing knowledge on haemoglobinopathies, including sickle cell anaemia and thalassaemia syndromes. The aim is also to develop innovative services and tools, thereby improving accessibility to knowledge and healthcare throughout Europe and beyond. Coordinated by The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, the project involves several countries, including Italy, Greece, France, Belgium and Spain. The Foundation's role in this project is to contribute to public awareness, network expansion and strategies for sustainability beyond the official completion of the project.
