Fondazione Gianni Benzi participated in the 42nd Congress of the Italian Society of Pharmacology (SIF), held in Sorrento from 13 to 16 November 2024, focused on the theme “Science Today for a Better Medicine Tomorrow”. The event featured a rich program of plenary lectures, workshops, and poster presentations, fostering collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and industry leaders on topics such as innovative pharmacological approaches, regulatory developments, and the integration of basic and clinical research.
Our researchers Silvia Torretta and Annunziata D’Ercole represented the Foundation, showcasing their significant contributions through engaging poster presentations.
Silvia Torretta shared her contributions “Revolutionising Orphan and Paediatric Medicine Development: The ERAMET Project”. This innovative initiative focuses on transforming drug development decision-making by establishing an integrated ecosystem designed to tackle key clinical and scientific challenges. The goal is to accelerate the development of innovative medicines for orphan and paediatric conditions, ensuring better outcomes for patients. Silvia expressed her enthusiasm, stating: «It was inspiring to exchange ideas with experts and to witness the advancements being made in pharmacology».
Annunziata D’Ercole presented her work on “Mapping of Data-Sharing Repositories for Paediatric Clinical Research”, conducted as part of the conect4children project. Her research aims to enhance the re-use of paediatric Individual Patient Data (IPD) from clinical trials, contributing to improved transparency and collaboration in the field. Reflecting on her experience, she remarked: «It’s been amazing to contribute to this event and connect with peers passionate about advancing pharmacology».
