Fondazione Gianni Benzi took part in the second edition of the Summer School ‘PREPARA - Paediatric peRsonalised ExtemPorAneous foRmulAtions’, an event organised by the Hospital Pharmacy School of the University of Bari ‘Aldo Moro’, in collaboration with Farmalabor srl and EPTRI. Also, the head of the Research and Innovation department of the Benzi Foundation, Viviana Giannuzzi, was one of the speakers. She gave an engaging lecture entitled ‘Research and development of paediatric formulations - regulatory aspects’. Addressing Hospital Pharmacy residents, she illustrated the complex regulatory process that a drug must go through before it can be administered to children.
She emphasised the importance of conducting specific and rigorous studies to ensure the safety and efficacy of paediatric formulations, adapting dosages and pharmaceutical forms to the needs of younger patients. Her presentation gave participants a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities related to paediatric drug development, stimulating a fruitful debate.
