The EMA premises hosted, on 7-8 June 2018, the annual workshop of theEuropean Network of Paediatric Research (Enpr-EMA), the network of research networks, investigators, and centres with strong expertise in conducting clinical studies in children. The network had 46 members from Europe, Canada, Japan, and the US, and was aimed at facilitating studies to increase the availability of medicines authorised for use in children.

This tenth meeting focused on a holistic approach to paediatric research.

The first day of the workshop involved all stakeholders, including patient/parent organisations, regulators, Enpr-EMA network representatives, academia, clinical investigators, and representatives from the pharmaceutical industry for paediatric studies, to discuss requirements, barriers, and opportunities for conducting high-quality clinical studies in children.

The second day was reserved for discussions among the members of Enpr-EMA and its coordinating group.
