Among the institutional tasks of Fondazione Gianni Benzi there is the promotion of the ethical and safe use of drugs, supporting studies on risk factors linked to particular categories of drugs and promoting transparent and scientifically adequate information.

On the particular problem of the fight against doping the activities of the Foundation are aimed at enhancing two fundamental aspects directly derived from the profound experience of Prof. Benzi, to whom the Foundation is inspired by all its activities: that of scientific rigor applied to the issues of doping and the protection and promotion of transparent and non-partisan information, particularly suited to the training and information needs of young people.

Several events have already been organized by the Foundation to support the fight against doping, including the Journalists against Doping Award (2008) and the School against Doping Award (2009).

This year the Foundation promotes a complex event aimed at both the world of science and the media and culture, as well as the world of education and society as a whole. This event will take place at the Sala Murat, in Piazza del Ferrarese, from 26 to 31 May 2012.
