NEW ARTICLE: TISBE WEB PLATFORM FOR DEVELOPMENTAL TOXICITY PREDICTIONS

Researchers from Fondazione Gianni Benzi cooperated with the team of Dipartimento di Farmacia - Scienze del Farmaco at Università degli Studi di Bari to the article “TISBE: A Public Web Platform for the Consensus-Based Explainable Prediction of Developmental Toxicity” recently published on the Chemical Research in Toxicology journal.

PROJECT “TUMORE, MA NON TIMORE”: INFORMATIVE MATERIAL AVAILABLE

Fondazione Gianni Benzi participates in the project "Tumore, ma non timore", aimed to ensure the quality and dignity of life for patients with cancer during the difficult time of the disease.

Within this project, we have developed informative material for patients, families and healthcare workers, through easy-to-understand and freely accessible videos that are available on our website. Please consider that the informative material is deployed in Italian only.

SAVE THE DATE: EJP RD FINAL CONFERENCE - BARI (ITALY)

We are glad to announce that the final conference of the European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases - EJP RD,  in which Fondazione Gianni Benzi actively participates, will take place from 27 to 28 May 2024 in Bari, Italy. This conference is set to bring together leading experts, professionals, and enthusiasts from around the world. The event is open in person only to invited people, while it is open for all online. You can register here by 31 March 2024.

NEW HMA-EMA REAL-WORLD DATA CATALOGUES

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Heads of Medicines Agencies (HMA) have just launched two public electronic catalogues: one for real-world data (RWD) sources and another one for RWD studies.

The catalogue for RWD sources enhances and replaces the ENCePP Resources Database. The catalogue for RWD studies expands and replaces the European Union electronic register of post-authorisation studies (EU PAS Register®).

NEW GENE THERAPY FOR SCD AND THALASSAEMIA

The European Medicines  Agency (EMA) has recommended conditional approval of Casgevy, the first medicine using CRISPR/Cas9, a novel gene-editing technology.  It is indicated for the treatment of severe Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and transfusion-dependent beta-thalassemia in patients 12 years of age and older for whom haematopoietic stem cell transplantation is appropriate and a suitable donor is not available.

CIOMS GUIDELINES ON GOOD PRACTICE FOR RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS

The Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS) released the "International guidelines on good governance practice for research institutions". It aims to help research institutions better fulfil their responsibilities in terms of protecting human research participants and their communities, involving and engaging them in the research processes, and guaranteeing the pertinence and quality of research while making best use of available resources.
